Medicine on the mountain and in the wilderness, far away from civilization, presents a challenge for both the patient and the health care provider. You have the elements to work with; cold, heat, snow, water, wind etc. You have a limited supply of equipment and persons to help you, and you are sometimes days from a hospital. Simply put, you have to work with what you have to make the best of a bad situation while trying to save life and limb. It is a challenge that inspires us.

As a doctor, Emma has a special interest in mountain medicine. She is a holder of the UIAA Diploma in Mountain Medicine (DiMM) and on the faculty of the Scandinavian DiMM. Signar is a certified First Aid and CPR instructor. We are members of the Avalanche and Mountain rescue group in Lofoten where we live. With our combined experience and knowledge, we believe we have the qualifications and network to help make moments on the mountain safer.

If you are planning an expedition or adventure far off the beaten path and wish to have medical expertise in your group, or if you want to learn more about first aid in the wilderness, please contact us for a discussion on how we can help you.
